MG played a show at the legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA on 2-25-12. Buddy Holly played his last show at the Surf before the terrible plane crash that took the lives of himself, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and the pilot in Feb 1959. I was able to visit the memorial out in the farmers field, still adorned with loving tributes from fans, 53 yrs later.
Sean is a road brother of mine. We met in January of 2003 while MG was opening for Kenny Chesney.
He’s a fantastic drummer, and I dug up this clinic he did a while back. At minute 6:20 you can hear him playing along to a tune I co-wrote with another road brother Jeff Dayton (who coincidentally was playing acoustic for Kenny at the time).
